Since 2009 the record price for this artist at auction is 6,000 USD for Ritch Miller ''Geisha Orande'' Mixed Media, sold at Mroczek Brothers Auctioneers in 2022. In MutualArt’s artist press archive, Ritch Miller is featured in Holiday Snaps – End of Summer Art Diary – Revd Jonathan Evens, a piece from ArtLyst in August 2022.
In his early works, human loneliness and angst appeared distorted by horror, sunken in despair. An abstract stage led on from this which prolonged the world view expressed in the faces of his subjects. After that came to an uneasy world where the human presence is absent, with desolate landscapes and still lifes. Figures of men dressed as brides, elderly Native Americans with limp feathers, boys in lace, old men dressed as women or bishops, tightrope walkers and princesses are common themes.
